This one varies most. Replace the example with the rate your organiser quotes for your stand position.

Estimated budget for 36 m²

€43,620–€55,250

Estimated cost by area
Floor space€10,800
Stand design and build€16,200–€23,400
Graphics and AV€4,150–€5,260
Venue services€3,120–€3,950
Logistics€3,120–€3,950
Staff and hospitality€6,230–€7,890

A planning range in euros, not a quote.

How the estimate works

Floor space is your stand area multiplied by the rate you enter. The build is your area multiplied by a planning rate for the stand type:

  • Modular system: €280–€380 per m²
  • Custom build: €450–€650 per m²
  • Double-deck: €750–€1100 per m²

Graphics, venue services, logistics, staff and hospitality are then added in proportion, using the split in our exhibition stand cost guide: space and build at about two thirds of the budget, everything else at about one third.

The build rates are one European builder’s published ranges, from Adam Expo Stand’s calculator, which makes no claim to validated accuracy. Treat this as a starting budget. Costs differ by country, venue and specification, so confirm them with real quotes.

Exhibition stand cost questions

How much does an exhibition stand cost per square metre?

One European stand builder publishes planning rates of about €280–€380 per m² for modular stands, €450–€650 for custom builds and €750–€1,100 for double-deck stands. Those cover the build only: floor space and show costs come on top, and prices vary by country and specification.

Where do I find my floor space rate?

From the show organiser. Most publish a price per m² by stand type, and many large German fairs offer their own space calculators. Corner, peninsula and island sites usually cost more than row stands, so check the rate for your position and add any registration or media fees.

Why is the total so much higher than the build price?

Because the stand is only part of a show budget. In a typical split, space and build make up around two thirds, and graphics, AV, venue services, logistics, staff and hospitality make up the rest.

How accurate is this calculator?

It gives a planning range, not a quote. The rates are general, and the real price depends on your country, venue, specification and timing. Use it to set a budget, then get quotes from stand builders against a drawn design.

How can I get a more accurate price?

Give builders the same detailed brief and drawings, so their quotes compare like for like. A dimensioned plan, elevations and a materials list answer most of the questions that otherwise turn into allowances and extras.
